A former Barcelona star has revealed that he got into a training ground row with Lionel Messi for not passing the ball.
Mexican defender Rafael Marquez spent seven years with the Catalan giants, from 2003 to 2010, and won a quite a few trophies while there, including two UEFA Champion League titles.
He was present when Messi made his breakthrough to the club's senior side, and watched him establish himself as one of the greats.
Marquez has now revealed that he and the Argentine once had to be separated by Pep Guardiola in training after getting into a heated exchange.
"They gave him (Messi) the ball and he began to mock one player and then another with his tricks, then he reached the goal and did not score," the ex-Mexico defender told TUDN.
"You will know that I don't like to lose at anything, even in playing marbles.
"I scolded Leo because he did not pass the ball to anyone and he did not score, to which he responded angrily and then we started arguing.
"Pep then came in and shut Leo down, which ended the argument."
