The Juventus superstar found the back of the net twice in his side's 2-1 win over Lazio on Monday night, but was unable to score during Thursday's surprise defeat to Udinese.
As a consequence, he has now scored 30 goals in Italy's top flight this season, while Ciro Immobile took his tally to 31 strikes in the race for the Capocannoniere, which is awarded to the highest goalscorer in each Serie A season.
Ronaldo remained four goals short of Golden Shoe leader Robert Lewandowski, but has now just three more games to add to his total this season.
Messi, meanwhile, will not be able to defend his title after finishing the 2019/20 campaign with 25 LaLiga strikes.
The Argentine won the past three editions of the award and a record six overall, but will not be able to add to his tally this season.
