It has been claimed that Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard does not score as many goals as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo because he is not as selfish as they are.
The Belgian has been in terrific form for club and country in recent months, and once again made headlines when he scored the winner in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup earlier this week.
Hazard is often criticised for not using his undoubted talent to consistently find he back of the net, but his teammate Ross Barkley believes he is simply not as selfish as the likes of Messi and Ronaldo.
"They are probably a lot more selfish than Eden is," he said, according to West London Sport.
"He is not a selfish player. He is happy with getting two assists and the team winning. But he is adding goals and he keeps improving.
"What he produced against Liverpool, he’s doing that every day in training, so it’s no surprise to us.
"At the minute, he is the best player in the world, I believe."
Hazard has played seven matches for the Blues this season so far, scoring six goals and assisting a further two strikes.
