Argentina legend Diego Maradona is worried the Albiceleste might not qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup without the suspended Lionel Messi.
The FC Barcelona superstar was handed a four-game ban from football's governing body for insulting a match official last month, although he has already served one of those matches.
Argentina lost that game 2-0 to Bolivia without Messi, leaving Maradona with the opinion that they could struggle to qualify for the World Cup in Russia.
"We are screwed," he told Radio Rivadavia.
"Without Messi, qualification is doubtful."
Argentina, who are currently fifth in the CONMEBOL qualifying table, still have to play against Uruguay, Venezuela, Peru and Ecuador, and are also yet to appoint a manager to replace the recently sacked Edgardo Bauza.
