While few could believe that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo would ever play for the same team, that could now become a genuine possibility after David Beckham confirmed his interest in bringing the two global superstars to his MLS club.

Earlier in the week, Minnesota United manager Adrian Heath revealed that he would not be surprised to see Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo join up with former England captain Beckham at his newly formed MLS side, Inter Miami.
Ahead of the club's MLS debut this weekend, Beckham spoke about the journey he had taken to bring the Miami-based outfit to life and revealed the ambitious plans he had for its future, which could include the acquisition of Messi and Ronaldo.
"We really believe in the roster we have," Beckham said, as reported by The National.
"The players that we have we're really happy with but we have also talked about if we have the opportunity to bring in big-name players from Europe into our city we will do that.
"Every team in the world would want Messi and Ronaldo in their teams, but we always talked about us being different from any other team, which I am sure every other owner says exactly the same thing.
"So that's what we will try to do and if we have the opportunity to bring big-name players in then great. We're lucky we have an ownership group that has that vision and wants to succeed and has that competitiveness where we want the best players."
