Lionel Messi was criticised for leaving his box seat early when Argentina lost to Spain on Tuesday, and he also did something else that Cristiano Ronaldo would never have done, according to an Albiceleste legend.

The 30-year-old was absent for both of Argentina's international friendlies over the past week as he has reportedly been carrying a hamstring injury.
On Tuesday, Messi watched on from a box seat alongside countryman Manuel Lanzini as their team got thrashed 6-1 by Spain, with the Barca man eventually seen leaving his seat after Isco scored his hat-trick, and La Furia Roja's final, goal.
Former Albiceleste goalkeeper Hugo Gatti was disappointed by Messi's absence, insisting the star's biggest rival Ronaldo would have played even he was carrying a knock.
"Messi had to have played," he told El Chiringutio TV.
"People wanted to see you.
"Cristiano would have done it."
Messi is reportedly a doubt for Barca's clash away at Sevilla this weekend, although he could be available for the first leg of the club's UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Roma next week.
