History-maker Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed what it feels like to play football without supporters in stadiums.
Ronaldo Responds To 'Portugal Better Without CR7' Claims
The 35-year-old scored twice in Portugal's 2-0 UEFA Nations League win over Sweden on Tuesday night, bringing up his 100th and 101st goals for his country in the process.
After the game, Ronaldo admitted he is immensely proud to have achieved a century of strikes on the international stage, and also gave his opinion on what it is like playing football without supporters in the ground.
"Playing without fans is like going to the circus and not seeing clowns," he said, according to Goal.
"It's like going to the garden and not seeing flowers."
Ronaldo now returns to Italy ahead of the 2020/21 season with Juventus, and it might still be a while before the atmosphere in stadiums returns to normal.
In June, it was said there was a chance that fans could be allowed in stadiums in September, but that could change given the number of new COVID-19 cases in Italy.
