A former Real Madrid superstar has revealed that ex-Los Blancos talisman Cristiano Ronaldo was highly upset when he left the Spanish giants.
Records Ronaldo Could Break At Juve This Season
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil spent three years playing in Real's famous white jersey, but was sold on deadline day in the 2013 August transfer window.
The German had a good relationship with Ronaldo, who has also since left the club, and has now claimed that the Portuguese was angered by his exit.
Speaking in a recent interview, Ozil paraphrased what the forward said after he was sold to Arsenal.
"The sale of Ozil is bad news for me," Ronaldo said, according to the Arsenal midfielder, as per AS.
"He was the player who best understood my movements in front of goal. I'm very angry that Ozil is being sold."
Ozil also suggested that he felt he did not have Real and then manager Carlo Ancelotti's trust at the time.
"During the weekend, I would be staying at Real Madrid but later I realised that the manager (Carlo Ancelotti) and the board did not have faith in me," he added.
"I’m a player who needs that trust in me and that's what I felt from Arsenal, that’s the reason I decided to join the club."
