The Red Devils ran a poll on their official website and social channels after making their 1 000th Premier League appearance against Watford last weekend, and Ronaldo won the vote, as confirmed by the club.
The Portuguese made 292 appearances for the English giants, scoring 118 goals and assisting another 68 strikes before leaving in 2009 to join Real Madrid. He lifted 10 trophies during his time at Old Trafford, and beat club legend Ryan Giggs, who won 34 titles with United, to the coveted title.
In the poll, Ronaldo received 24% of the votes, while Giggs got 21% and Paul Scholes finished in third spot with 17%.
The Red Devils also asked for the club's best ever Premier League game, best Premier League goal and best Premier League save in the English top flight since 1992, when the new league format was implemented.
Unsurprisingly, their 4-3 win over crosstown rivals Manchester City in 2009/10 won the best game poll, but it was a tight contest, with the seven-goal thriller receiving just 87 more votes than the second-placed 8-2 thumping of Arsenal in 2010.
Wayne Rooney bicycle kick strike against City in 2010/11 won the best goal poll, while David de Gea’s 2014/15 save against Juan Mata – then still at Chelsea – was named the best save in Premier League history.
