Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly rejected a massive sponsorship deal that would have seen him earn more than R300 000 a day.

The 35-year-old is one of football's richest players and recently became a billionaire from his salaries and endorsement deals.
However, he has now snubbed a multi-million offer to become the face of Saudi Arabian tourism, according to The Telegraph.
The deal amounted to €6 million (R110 million) per year, which equates to about €16 350 (just over R300 000) per day, and would have included Ronaldo visiting Saudi Arabia several times and also allowing the Arab nation to use his images on promotional material.

His longstanding rival Lionel Messi was reportedly also approached by Saudi Arabia's tourism authority, but the Argentine's view on the proposal is unknown at this stage.
Ronaldo and Messi's representatives did not want to comment on the sponsorship offer when contacted by the abovementioned English publication.

Saudi Arabia's reputation is not the best due to its controversial human rights issues, and the country is aiming to become more attractive for visitors via its "Visit Saudi" campaign.
