The 36-year-old continued his fine form for A Selecao in their 5-0 win over Luxembourg on Tuesday night, scoring three times to bring up his 113th, 114th and 115th strikes in international football.
After the game, the United No. 7 took to Instagram to speak of his delight at playing in front of Portugal's supporters at home.
"Another victory, another step towards our goal, another historic night in defence of our colours!" he wrote, according to Manchester Evening News.
"Everything becomes easier when we play at home and in front of an audience that cares for us from the first to the last minute…
"I had promised that I would always be looking for more and more and more! It's in my DNA and in our DNA, we're never content, we never lower our arms and we always go."
Before he brought up his hat-trick, Ronaldo was denied a remarkable effort after he controlled a cross into the box before unleashing a venomous bicycle-kick towards goal.
Luxembourg goalkeeper Anthony Moris, though, was equal to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's strike.

As a result of his three goals, Ronaldo has now scored more hat-tricks (10) on the international stage than any other player in history.
