Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has revealed that he wants to catch Lionel Messi in the race for the most Ballon d’Or titles.
Ronaldo, who won his third Ballon d’Or last night in Zurich, made it very clear that he does not intend to stop pushing for the another title, as he would like to catch Lionel Messi.
"This is an unforgettable moment, I'm not going to stop here,” Ronaldo told the Ballon d’Or crowd.
“I want to catch Messi (he has won the Ballon d'Or four times).”
The Portuguese also touched on the fact that he never thought he would win the Ballon d’Or in his career, but is extremely grateful for the opportunity and will use this latest honour to motivate him more.
"I never thought I'd win such an important trophy, it's such a unique experience,” he added.
“It brings up so many different emotions and I'll use this award as motivation to continue working hard to win more individual and team honours.”
Ronaldo previously won the award in 2008 and 2013, and he had been the clear favourite to win this year’s award prior to the announcement.
