Ronaldo played just his third match of the season for Los Blancos on Wednesday, where he fired two past APOEL to inspire his side to a comfortable 3-0 victory.

The Portuguese international, who is suspended for one more La Liga match, opened the scoring in the 12th minute, after latching on to a brilliant ball from Gareth Bale into the box.

The 32-year-old then added his second strike from the penalty spot in the 51st minute of the encounter, before defender Sergio Ramos later found the back of the net for Real’s third.

Elsewhere, Guardiola’s City ran rampant in the Netherlands, defeating Eredivisie champions 4-0 in their Group F clash.

England defender John Stones opened the scoring for the Citizens just two minutes in, while Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus added goals of their own shortly after. Stones then added his second and City’s fourth in the second half.
