Ronaldo Opens Up On Controversial Exit Comments

Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo shocked fans after the UEFA Champions League final when he hinted he could be leaving Real Madrid. The Portuguese has now opened up about why he made those comments.

Real Madrid Dressing Room Upset By Ronaldo's Comments

Following Real's 3-1 win over Liverpool in the UCL final on Saturday, the Portuguese surprised many during an interview when he suggested he could be quitting the club.

While it has been reported that his team-mates were not happy with his comments, Ronaldo has now insisted he has no regrets about what he said, but admitted that perhaps he should have saved his remarks for another time.

"I spoke when I shouldn't have done, but something is going to happen. It wasn't the right time, but I was honest," he said, according to Sky Sports.

"In a week, I'll say something because the fans have always supported me and are in my heart. I don't speak much, but when I speak, I speak.

"Obviously, I have something to say, but it wasn't the right time, although I don't regret it because I was honest. I've kept putting up with this but then I couldn't control myself."

Ronaldo has previously been accused of using a similar tactic to earn himself bigger contracts at Real, but the 33-year-old has insisted that is not the case this time.

"This has been coming for a long time. Money is not the problem," he added.

"I've won five Champions Leagues, five Ballons d'Or. I was already in history but now even more.

"I'm not bothered because I know what I give to this club. I don't want to erase this unique moment with my teammates, who are real champions."
