The Portuguese recently moved into seventh spot among the European record scorers and currently sits on 396 league goals. According to UEFA, he scored three in Liga NOS for Sporting, 84 in the Premier League for Manchester United and scored his 309th LaLiga goal on Wednesday night.
He is currently the top goalscorer across Europe's top five leagues, ahead of longstanding rival Lionel Messi, but only sits in seventh position when it comes to the all-time record scorers in European league history.
While Stjepan Bobek (403 goals), Jimmy McGory (410 goals), Gyula Zsengeller (411 goals) and Imre Schlosser (417 goals) seem to be in Ronaldo's reach, he would need to score more than 100 more league goals to reach the top duo.
Legendary Real Madrid striker Ferenc Puskas netted 517 league goals in Hungary (358 goals) and Spain (159 goals) between 1943 and 1966, while Josef Bican leads the ranking – the Austria-born striker scored 500 league goals in the former Czechoslovakia and another 18 in Austria's first division, according to UEFA.
Messi also appears in the top 10, having scored 374 LaLiga goals so far.
Note: The list was compiled by @twitugal and updated based on UEFA information. Germany's Uwe Seeler, whose league tally stands at 406 goals (404 for Hamburg and two for Cork Celtic), excluding playoffs, would sit in fifth place in the list, but the Bundesliga was only formed in 1963 and before the German champion was contested through five regional divisions.
