Cristiano Ronaldo Now 7th Among All-time Top Goalscorers Across All European Leagues

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has broken many records, but there is one that seems out of his reach. As many as six players have scored more goals across Europe's leagues in history; how many can he still overtake?

Click through the gallery above to see the all-time top goalscorers across Europe's leagues.

The Portuguese recently moved into seventh spot among the European record scorers and currently sits on 396 league goals. According to UEFA, he scored three in Liga NOS for Sporting, 84 in the Premier League for Manchester United and scored his 309th LaLiga goal on Wednesday night.

He is currently the top goalscorer across Europe's top five leagues, ahead of longstanding rival Lionel Messi, but only sits in seventh position when it comes to the all-time record scorers in European league history.

While Stjepan Bobek (403 goals), Jimmy McGory (410 goals), Gyula Zsengeller (411 goals) and Imre Schlosser (417 goals) seem to be in Ronaldo's reach, he would need to score more than 100 more league goals to reach the top duo.

Legendary Real Madrid striker Ferenc Puskas netted 517 league goals in Hungary (358 goals) and Spain (159 goals) between 1943 and 1966, while Josef Bican leads the ranking – the Austria-born striker scored 500 league goals in the former Czechoslovakia and another 18 in Austria's first division, according to UEFA.

Messi also appears in the top 10, having scored 374 LaLiga goals so far.

Note: The list was compiled by @twitugal and updated based on UEFA information. Germany's Uwe Seeler, whose league tally stands at 406 goals (404 for Hamburg and two for Cork Celtic), excluding playoffs, would sit in fifth place in the list, but the Bundesliga was only formed in 1963 and before the German champion was contested through five regional divisions.

Do you think Ronaldo can still break Bican's record? Have your say in the comments section below.

Ronaldo is not a better player than Messi at all. Infact, Ronaldo is compared to Messi because, i mean, Messi has to be compared to something or rather someone. Ronaldo played 907 overall games and scored 652 goals and Assisted 207 times in all his career. Messi played 757 overall games and scored 611 goals and assisted 249 times in all his career. I mean Messi has 150 games in hand and he is only 41 goals behind Ronaldo. And you Ronaldo Fanboys wanna argue that Ronaldo is better than Messi. What nonsense!!!!!!!! The stats above were updated yesterday.

@alizebucs1986 A best player "YOU" have ever know. That doesn't matter, since your knowledge of this game is somewhat questionable.

@alizebucs1986 I know that reading with understanding is a difficult skill, so you are forgiven. "On 24 June 2005, his 18th birthday, Messi signed his first contract as a senior team player."

@alizebucs1986 "On 24 June 2005, his 18th birthday, Messi signed his first contract as a senior team player. It made him a Barcelona player until 2010, two years less than his previous contract, but his buyout clause increased to €150 million.[36] His breakthrough came two months later, on 24 August, during the Joan Gamper Trophy, Barcelona's pre-season competition. @alizebucs1986 "During the 2004–05 season, Messi was a guaranteed starter for the B team, playing 17 games throughout the campaign and scoring on six occasions.[32][38] Since his debut the previous November, he had not been called up to the first team again, but in October 2004, the senior players asked manager Frank Rijkaard to promote him." I think this piece of info would also help.

@Mpho wa Cosmos Ronaldo has always been a Skillful Player,he used to do it a lot at Man United but he changed his Style a bit after joining Madrid because Florentino Perez said he wil pay him for every Goal that he scored, but only Cows nd Bloggers who started watching Football last year will talk K**k about Cr7

I was watching CR7 50 hatricks on YouTube, many of those goals are so amazing, some are crazy like those vollies outside the box, even some penalties you can see he practice them as they are stylish. If Messi has to be called the best bcz of Skill, Genius ( that I didn't see in Barca Vs Roma) or in Argentina national team then ppl must swallow their hatred and give King Ronaldo what he deserves. The guy is the best ever. His skills in Man U n early days in Madrid out of this World too

Stats like these are misleading. Ed forgets the number of years each of these players played. You must rather consider the average per year. In that case the leader would be Stjepan at 31.0 goals per yr (13yrs), followed by king Messi at 28.8 (13yrs). Ronaldo comes 4th at 24.8 over 16yrs of playing. The highly revered Puskas comes at 6th positon (22.5 for 23yrs).
