Football may have stopped but the debate regarding who the best footballer in the world is continues, with Cristiano Ronaldo receiving some new backing.
The Juventus superstar is currently in quarantine in Portugal after visiting his mother, who had recently suffered, and since recovered from, a stroke.
He has not returned to Italy, which is in the middle of a coronavirus crisis and where three of his teammates have tested positive for COVID-19.
Messi, meanwhile, is in Spain, which is also under lockdown due to the virus.
The current health crisis, however, has not stopped people from debating their favourites between the two superstars, with Major League Soccer star Alan Pulido, who plays for Sporting Kansas City, recently being asked for his opinion on the matter.
"I think Cristiano has trained so hard to be the soccer player he is and his physical qualities make him the best," he told Fox Sports.
"That is why I think the Portuguese striker is much better than Messi, even though the Argentine has natural talent."
Both Messi and Ronaldo are still in the running for this season's European Golden shoe, with Ronaldo currently on 21 strikes in Serie A and Messi on 19 in LaLiga.
Lazio forward Ciro Immobile leads the ranking with 27 goals in the 2019/20 campaign thus far.
