Cristiano Ronaldo is breaking records left, right and centre and has now equalled another impressive milestone set by John Charles 63 years ago.
The 35-year-old was on the scoresheet in Juve’s 3-1 win over Sassuolo on Sunday, taking his Serie A tally to 16 strikes this campaign.
As a consequence, Ronaldo is experiencing the best goalscoring start to a campaign for Juventus since John Charles netted 15 times in the first 16 matches in 1957/58.
What makes Ronaldo’s record all the more impressive is the fact that he missed three league games earlier in the campaign after testing positive for COVID-19.
He also became the first player to net at least 15 league goals over the last 15 campaigns, and equalled Josef Bican’s record of 759 goals – the most scored in football, according to official statistics.
He could break Bican’s record when the Bianconeri face title rivals Inter on Sunday.
