Ronaldo Chasing Zlatan In Golden Boot Race

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored eight goals in just five Italian top-flight appearances so far this season, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still ahead of him in the Serie A Golden Boot race.

The Juventus superstar netted his third brace of the campaign when his side beat Cagliari 2-0 on Saturday.

Overall, the 35-year-old has now netted eight times in just five appearances, having missed two games after testing positive for COVID-19, while Juve's match against Napoli was cancelled.

Ronaldo is therefore currently scoring at an incredible rate of one goal every 47 minutes, and is chasing Ibrahimovic in race for the Serie A Golden Boot, also known as the Capocannoniere.

The 39-year-old Swede is turning back the years this season, and has netted 10 goals in just six appearances in this campaign.

Ibrahimovic also missed two games after testing positive for COVID-19, but similar to Ronaldo, has scored in every league game he has played so far this season.

The AC Milan forward struck his fourth brace of the campaign in Milan's 3-1 win at Napoli on Sunday, becoming only the fourth player in the league's recent history to score in each of his first six Serie A games, according to Football Italia.
