Juventus have the uphill task of turning around a 2-0 deficit when they host Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie tonight, but Cristiano Ronaldo remains confident of a great comeback.
The Portuguese has struggled to replicate his incredible UCL form of previous seasons since moving to the Bianconeri, having scored just one goal in six matches in the competition so far in this campaign.
Despite his form and the fact that Juve go into the second leg against the Rojiblancos 2-0 down, Ronaldo has called for his teammates to step up and give their supporters something to celebrate.
"We didn't expect to lose the first leg 2-0, but anything can happen, and we want to give a great response in our home, in front of our fans," he told Juventus TV.
"These are the great nights, the fantastic ones: the Champions League nights. The team is confident of playing a great game and I am too.
"To the fans I say: think positive, let's believe. Get ready to come back!"
Ronaldo has scored 21 goals and assisted a further 12 strikes in 35 matches for Juventus so far this season.
