Cristiano Ronaldo has finally broken his silence on his return to Manchester United, after his move back to the Premier League giants was confirmed today.

Official: Juve Announce Ronaldo Replacement

It was confirmed on Tuesday morning that the Portugal captain has completed his return to the 20-time English champions.

Ronaldo has signed a two-year contract in England with the option to extend for a further year, 12 years following his big-money departure from the club to Real Madrid.

Speaking about his return, the ex-Juventus forward said the Red Devils has always held a "special place" in his heart.

"Manchester United is a club that has always had a special place in my heart," he told the club's website.

"I cannot wait to play at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and see all the fans again.

"I'm looking forward to it and I hope we have a very successful season ahead."

Ronaldo spent six years on the club's books between 2003 and 2009, scoring 118 goals in 292 matches across all competitions and winning nine trophies.
