Former Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence following Manchester United's soul-destroying 5-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was kept quiet in United's home loss to the Reds, during which he had a goal ruled out by the video assistant referee and was involved in a bust-up with Liverpool players after angrily lashing out at Curtis Jones.

After Jones had beaten him to the ball, Ronaldo fouled the 20-year-old midfielder before kicking the ball that was wedged between his body and the ground.
The likes of Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk were quick to the scene where they made their feelings known, with the Portuguese perhaps fortunate to escape the incident with only a yellow card.
At that point of the match, Klopp's troops were already leading by three goals through Naby Keita, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah, although there would still be two more to come from Liverpool.
In an Instagram post written after the historic clash at Old Trafford, Ronaldo admitted that United supporters deserve better.
"Sometimes the result is not the one we fight for. Sometimes the score is not the one we want," he wrote on Instagram, according to Daily Mail.
"And this is on us, only on us, because there's no one else to blame. Our fans were, once again, amazing in their constant support.
"They deserve better than this, much better, and it's up to us to deliver. The time is now!"
