Ronaldo was left frustrated as he failed to score in his Bianconeri debut on Saturday, although he did trouble Chievo defenders and goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino on more than one occasion.
The shot-stopper was equal to Ronaldo's efforts in the match, but in an unfortunate clash with the Portuguese in extra time, the veteran goalkeeper was left unconscious and with a broken nose.
Ronaldo unintentionally caught the 39-year-old in the face while trying to get on the end of a loose ball in the box, before it was headed in at close range by Mandzukic, although the goal was later disallowed.
Sport has since reported that Ronaldo reached out to the goalkeeper to give him his best wishes after the collision, with the player confirming on Twitter that he received a "message of support and to get well soon from Cristiano Ronaldo. Thanks, legend!"
Juve beat Chievo 3-2 in their opening game of the Serie A season, and will play Lazio at home this coming Saturday.
