Ronaldo has been the driving force of Juventus' title push this season, having netted 31 goals in 32 games so far in this campaign.
The 35-year-old has netted an incredible 23 times for the Bianconeri to date in 2020, helping them secure their ninth Serie A title in the process.
It is Ronaldo's third trophy since joining Juve and his 32nd overall, meaning he now sits just two pieces of silverware behind Messi.
The Portugal captain has now lifted two Serie A titles as well as the Supercoppa Italiana with Juventus.
In addition, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner won 10 pieces of silverware with Manchester United, 16 with Real Madrid and one with Sporting Lisbon at club level, as well as the 2016 UEFA European Championship and the 2019 UEFA Nations League titles with Portugal.
Messi, meanwhile, has lifted all his silverware with FC Barcelona, and is the Spanish giants' most successful player in history with 34 trophies.
