Cafu: Neymar Quit FC Barcelona To Stand Out From Two Players
Brazil and AC Milan legend Cafu believes Neymar quit FC Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in order to escape the shadows of two players.
Many speculated that the 26-year-old wanted to leave Barca in order to become the leader and main player at a new team, something he has already done in France.
Former Selecao defender Cafu has echoed those sentiments, insisting that the attacker could not outshine Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta.
"The best person to ask that question would be Neymar but playing in the team with Messi and Iniesta, he would not have the same chance to stand out as at PSG," he said, according to Daily Express.
"Also, there he has more responsibility."
Neymar has excelled since becoming the world’s most expensive player ever, scoring 29 goals and assisting a further 17 strikes in 29 matches for Les Parisiens.
The Brazilian's recent injury might see him miss the second leg of PSG's UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash against Real Madrid, which they are currently losing 3-1 on aggregate.
