It has been claimed Lionel Mess has been offered a two-year deal by one of FC Barcelona's European rivals.
According to football journalist Marcelo Bechler, Paris Saint-Germain have presented a two-year contract plus the option of a further one year to the 33-year-old.
Messi has been strongly linked with a switch from Barcelona in recent months, after pushing for a transfer before the 2020/21 season started.
The Argentine is said to be wanted by both PSG and Manchester City, and it now appears that the former has made an official move.
Bechler reports that the French giants are confident in their economic proposal, while they also feel their sporting project is something that Messi could be attracted to.
PSG reached the final of last season's UEFA Champions League, and are set to compete in the semi-finals of the competition this week.
It is further claimed that new Barcelona president Joan Laporta is yet to offer Messi a new contract, with the club unaware of how they will approach a deal given its difficult financial situation.
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner will see his current deal in Spain run out in June, which means he has been legally able to speak to clubs since January, from when there was six months remaining on his contract.
