Shock reports in Spain have claimed FC Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has met with new manager Ronald Koeman and told him he sees his future away from the club.

According to Catalan radio station RAC1, the Argentine is seriously considering an exit from the Blaugrana after meeting with Koeman.
The publication claims the 33-year-old has informed the new boss that he sees himself leaving the Spanish giants, though he knows this will be difficult because his contract only expires in 2021.

At his unveilng as new manager on Wednesday, Koeman said he would meet with Messi to discuss his future, after it was claimed the six-time Ballon d'Or winner wants to leave the club before the 2020/21 season.
The Argentine is believed to have a release clause of €700 million (R14 billion), though it is widely understood that the club will lower its asking price if Messi looked to force a move.
