Some Real Madrid stars have whopping release clauses in their current deals, with eight of them being higher than Lionel Messi’s. Here are Los Blancos highest buyout clauses.

Karim Benzema is one of four Real stars who signed a contract extension since the start of the new season - the others being Marcelo, Dani Carvajal and Isco - and the Frenchman’s release clause was reportedly raised from €500 million (R7.9 billion) to €1 billion (R15.8 billion).
The striker’s new deal includes the joint-highest release clause in football, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s clause also set at €1 billion.
Isco is another star, who recently signed a contract extension and the Spaniard’s new release clause are a whopping €700 million (R11 billion) – the third-highest in football currently.
Gareth Bale is one of three players whose buyout clause is €500 million and reports suggest Marco Asensio’s clause will reportdly also rise from €350 million (R5.5 billion) to €500 million when he signs a new deal in the coming days.

Overall, Los Blancos have eight players with higher release clauses than Lionel Messi, who has with €300 million the biggest buyout clause among FC Barcelona stars.
