Arsene Wenger Questions Neymar's Intentions At Paris Saint-Germain
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has questioned Neymar's motives following the Brazilian's move from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-German.
The forward became the most expensive footballer in history when he signed for the French giants for a fee of €222 million (R3.4 billion) in the recent transfer window.
Despite Neymar saying his transfer gives him the opportunity of a new challenge, Wenger has suggested he believes the 25-year-old might have moved for money.
"Neymar never expressed exactly in his statement the reasons of his move, because there is always a huge desire for the players to play with the best players," he told beIN SPORTS.
"He decided to go the other way, so that is… for financial reasons, or for reasons that he thinks Paris Saint-Germain is tomorrow's club and will take over from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
"Or maybe for individual reasons, such as maybe he wants to become the player that the team turns around, and to be acknowledged as the best player in the world."
Neymar, who is said to be earning €565 000 (R8.7 million) a week in France, has scored four goals and assisted another four strikes in his first four matches at PSG.
