The manager of Argentina has talked about FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi’s long awaited return to the national team.
The 31-year-old has not featured for his country since the disappointment of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but has been recalled to the latest team.
Interim manager Lionel Scaloni is delighted to have the captain back with the team, but has not specified whether he will play or not.
"The decision by the coaching staff was to not include Leo in the first matches," he said, according to Mundo Albiceleste.
"Now he’s back and he’s most welcomed. Leo is called up, after that, we will see if he will play one match or both matches.
"I will take that decision. I think we knew how to take advantage of Messi at times. With him, the team got three finals but couldn’t (win it)) because of very little differences.
Argentina will take on Venezuela and Morocco in their upcoming friendlies at the end of the month.
