FC Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann was reportedly greeted by an icy reception on his way to training by the supporters, who reportedly blame him for Lionel Messi's exit.

The footballing world is still in disbelief after the Catalans announced on Thursday that the Argentine has left the club after failing to sign a new deal.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta says the club's financial struggles are the main reason the club could not afford Messi's contract demands.

The club have been trying to lower their wage bill by offloading players and they have reportedly been trying to get Griezmann's reported £345,000-a-week wage off the books.

The Frenchman was met by a group of angry supporters as he entered the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training ground on Friday.

The Sun report that one supporter was heard shouting 'Messi has left because of you' as the club are set to begin a new season without the Argentine for the first time since 2003.
