Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence on storming off the pitch on Saturday night after he was denied a late winning goal for Portugal.
Ronaldo thought he bagged a late goal against Serbia in their second FIFA World Cup qualifier, but replays showed the ball had indeed crossed the line.
With no Video Assistant Referee (VAR) at the stadium, Stefan Mitrovic was the hero after clearing the ball and the goal was not given.
The Juventus superstar took off his captain's armband and tossed in on the floor before storming off the picth as the European champions had to settle for a point.
The Portugual skipper expressed his frustration on social media after Saturday's disappointing encounter.
"Being captain of the Portugal national team is one of the greatest honours and privileges of my life.
"I give and will always give my all for my country, that will never change.
"But there are difficult moments to cope with, especially when we feel like an entire nation is being harmed. Head up and face the next challenge! Come on Portugal!"
