On Saturday, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang showcased why he is one of the top forwards in world football as he brought Arsenal back from a goal down to beat Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup final.
Following yet another impressive display, there have been various reports discussing Arsenal's desperation to tie down the Gabon international, with it being reported that club owner Stan Kroenke had sanctioned a three-year contract for the player, with a huge pay increase.
However, if you look beyond his performances, the statistics showcase just why the Gunners are willing to break the bank to keep him.
Aubameyang is one of only four players to score more than 25 goals across all competitions in each of their past six seasons, and is joined by elite company in Ronaldo, Messi and Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski.
Added to this, the Arsenal star last scored less than 16 league goals in his first campaign with Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 13 times in the 2013/14 season.

Even more impressive is that Aubameyang managed to continue the scoring streak despite his mid-season move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League two and a half years ago. Having already scored 13 goals in 16 league games for Dortmund in the first half of the 2017/18 campaign, the striker made an instant impact at the Emirates when he scored 10 goals in 13 EPL games in the stretch between January and May 2018.
Aubameyang scored 29 goals in 44 games across all competitions this season. Do you think he is one of Africa's greatest strikers ever? Have your say in the comments section below.
