Real Madrid will be looking to restore their four point lead at the top of La Liga when they play host to Villarreal in the late match tonight.

Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to his so-called three-match “goal drought” by scoring in consecutive games against Schalke and Elche, and he will be hoping to continue scoring and get closer to winning a fourth European Golden Shoe.

In team news, Luka Modric is not yet ready to make his return to action, despite returning to full training. Sergio Ramos, James Rodriguez and Sami Khedira will all be missing through injury as well for Real Madrid

Villarreal, meanwhile, will be without Bojan Jokic, Bruno and Adrian Marin, who will also be out with injuries.
