In team news, Luka Modric is not yet ready to make his return to action, despite returning to full training. Sergio Ramos, James Rodriguez and Sami Khedira will all be missing through injury as well for Real Madrid
Villarreal, meanwhile, will be without Bojan Jokic, Bruno and Adrian Marin, who will also be out with injuries.
