Real Madrid will be looking to overcome a 2-0 deficit in their efforts to defend the Copa Del Rey title when they face their city rivals, Atletico Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeau tonight.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team have not been able to beat Atletico since the Champions League final in Lisbon last year and have lost all of their last three matches against the Spanish champions.
Atletico, meanwhile, are undefeated in 18 of their last 20 Copa Del Rey matches, losing both quarter-final ties against Real last season.
In the past six matches between these teams, Real Madrid have emerged victorious only once, with two games ending in draws and three in Atletico’s favour.
Atletico will draw encouragement from the fact that they have scored at least two goals in their last three matches in the Copa Del Rey, and any goals will be vital due to the away goals rule.
In team news, Juanfran and Arda Turan will both be missing through suspension for Diego Simeone’s team, but otherwise he will have a full squad available to him.
Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao, on the other hand, will be out of the tie after his red card on the weekend against Espanyol, which carries through into the Cup. Luka Modric is still out with a hamstring injury.
Here is how they line-up:
Atletico: Oblak; Juanfran, Miranda, Godín, Siqueira; Mario, Tiago, Koke, Raúl García; Griezmann, F. Torres
Real Madrid: Keylor Navas; Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Kroos, Isco, James; Bale, Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo
