Veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed the bet he offered Romelu Lukaku during their time at Manchester United, which involved in the Belgian's first touch.
After leaving Paris Saint-Germain, Ibrahimovic made the switch to the Red Devils in 2016 and was instrumental in the club's Community Shield, League Cup and Europa League success.
Lukaku joined the Red Devils the following season, and the Swedish striker reveals he offered the Belgian £50 (R960) everytime he had a good first touch.
"I will say this on Romelu: don’t expect good technique from Lukaku. His best strength is sheer power. If only he’d listened to me…," Ibrahimovic told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"At Manchester United, we made a bet: “'’ll give you £50 for every decent first touch you make.'
"He replied: 'What do I win if I get them all right?'
"I told him nothing, he would simply become a better player.
"For the record, he never accepted the bet! Perhaps he was afraid of losing…
"Joking aside, Lukaku has this mad hunger to prove himself to the world and I’m sure he will do well at Inter too."
