It has been claimed that legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson was left confused by Manchester United for not signing a certain Premier League star.
A scout by the name of Bobby Jenks discovered now Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn in Scotland, where he played for St. Mirren and Hibernian.
Jenks has now claimed that Ferguson is a big fan of the midfielder, and that the legendary Scottich tactician is baffled that United have not signed him, even after his recommendation during the latest transfer window.
"He's up there with the best-performing midfielders in the division," he told The Athletic.
"Wait until he's had a year at that level and then we can say more.
"What I do know is that Sir Alex Ferguson is wondering why Manchester United let a talented Scottish boy slip through.
"He'll be keeping a close eye on him, that's for sure, and if he continues the way he is, you can bet he'll be telling his pals at United, too."
McGinn has scored three goals and assisted one further strike in eight Premier League games for Aston Villa so far this season.
