With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pushing ahead with his squad revamp, it has been claimed he has informed the club's board that several players have no future under him.
One of the stars said to be on the coach's axe list is Romelu Lukaku. The striker has had limited game time since the Norwegian took over from Jose Mourinho, and is reportedly also keen on a new challenge.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Belgian met with Inter Milan in recent weeks to discuss a transfer to the Italian giants, and has agreed to a five-year deal.
Lukaku is even reportedly prepared to take a pay cut from his current weekly wage of £250 000 (R4.7 million) in order to push through a transfer to Inter.
The Nerazzurri are understood to be on the verge of replacing head coach Luciano Spalletti with Antonio Conte. The Italian tactician wanted to sign Lukaku for Chelsea during his time at Stamford Bridge, and has now made him one of his key targets should he take over at Inter.
It has been claimed the Italian giants have offered the Red Devils long-term target Ivan Perisic and £30 million (R564 million) in exchange for the forward, but the United are apparently not keen on a swap deal and are holding out for £62 million (R1.17 billion).
