Manchester United will reportedly announce their first signing for 2019/20 today after the player was given permission to leave his national team squad to travel to the Red Devils for a medical.
The Premier League side have been linked with a host of names in recent weeks, and it now seems as though Swansea winger Daniel James will finally complete his move to Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old was said to be close to joining United a few ago already, but his father’s sad passing put the deal on hold.
"There is not one day goes by that I don't miss you, you are my inspiration and I wouldn't be where I am today without you," James wrote, at the time on his Instagram account.

He had initially left the Wales squad to mourn the passing of his dad, but returned recently. However, according to The Sun, James has now been given permission to leave the squad again in order to complete a medical at United’s training ground at Carrington.
The Premier League giants and Swansea are believed to be close to finalizing a £15 million (R283 million) deal for the winger.
The plan is for James to have his medical today (Wednesday) and quickly return to the Wales squad before they travel to Croatia for their qualifier for the 2020 UEFA European Championship.
James made 38 appearances for Championship side Swansea last season, scoring five goals and assisting in another 10.
