After Manchester United announced the extension of Odion Ighalo's loan deal earlier this week, the total cost of the agreement as well as the Nigerian star's new salary have now seemingly been revealed.

On Monday, the Premier League side confirmed that the 30-year-old will stay at Old Trafford until 31 January 2021 after impressing in his first eight appearances for the club.
The Daily Mirror has now reported that United will pay Ighalo's parent club Shanghai Shenhua a loan fee of £6 million (R130 million) to retain his services for another six months.
In addition, the Red Devils will continue to pay £130 000 (R2.8 million) of his £300 000 (R6.5 million) weekly wages, with his parent club contributing the rest.

Overall, the loan will cost the Premier League side about £10 million (R217 million), but there is reportedly no option to buy once the deal expires.
United's bid to keep Ighalo was supported by the fact that no date for the return of the Chinese Super League has been set, while the Chinese government stated last week that no visas will be given to foreign nationals until October.

It means that the Red Devils will also be able to use the 30-year-old in the first half of the 2020/21 campaign should it commence as expected.
