The Red Devils do not have much time left to complete deals, with the English transfer window closing on 8 August. United have been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes for a couple of months, and the transfer now looks like it could finally happen.
The 24-year-old, who scored 32 goals across all competitions for Sporting last season, broke down in tears after his side's latest pre-season friendly, against Valencia on Sunday.
He recently hinted at a move to England, although it remains to be seen whether or not this transfer materialises.
"The only thing I can do now is that I need to catch the plane so I don't miss it," he said, as quoted by the Daily Express.
"Will this be the last match for Sporting? I don't know, it's the coach who decides.
"I told I'd like to play in England, but I don't care about it right now. If it could be this season? It could be when the club decides, I'm not in charge."

United are favourites to sign Fernandes after the recent departures of midfielders Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera, who are yet to be replaced in the squad, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirming that the club is still working on new arrivals.
"As I've said and answered a few times, we're working on one or two cases," the United coach said, according to the Daily Express.
"But obviously my objective now when I'm here is we've got to get ready for the games and training sessions. And if I've got to travel somewhere, I will. And you won't be able to ask me.
"We're working on putting a squad together that can compete. Of course, we have some youngsters but we have loads of players that can play and loads of ways we can play."
