The Red Devils sold Romelu Lukaku ahead of this season and also let Alexis Sanchez go out on loan without signing any replacements.
When Marcus Rashford got injured in January, they brought in Odion Ighalo on loan on deadline day to add some firepower to their squad.
However, the Nigeria striker is seemingly set to return to his parent club Shanghai Shenhua when his loan deal expires on 31 May, and United could dive into the transfer market once the season is finished.
It is claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has drawn up a list of seven attacking targets to pursue, including Timo Werner, who has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.
The 24-year-old is believed to have a £52 million (R1.1 billion) release clause in his contract, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp understood to be keen to lure him to Anfield. The Red Devils, though, are ready to step in should Werner's transfer to Merseyside not materialise.
In addition, Lautaro Martinez is also reportedly on the list. The Inter Milan forward is rumoured to be Barca's main target for the coming window, but Solskjaer is said to be a fan as well.
Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Raul Jimenez, Borussia Monchengladbach's Alassane Plea and three Ligue 1 forwards, including an African star, are also on the reported wish list – you can see it in full in the gallery above!
