With an African starlet impressing in his breakthrough campaign in Europe, both Manchester United and Real Madrid have reportedly shortlisted him as a transfer target for next season.
Defender Mohammed Salisu began the 2019/20 season as a relative unknown at Real Valladolid, but has come on in leaps and bounds since his first match back in August.
The Ghanaian centre-back has played 24 matches across all competitions for his club so far in this campaign, and has put in displays solid enough to attract interest from several top European sides.
According to Spanish publication AS, both Real and Atletico Madrid are chasing his signature, as are Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United.
While Valladolid, currently 15th in LaLiga, face a battle to stay in the top division, their struggles have mainly come as a result of a lack of goals at the other end rather than poor defending.
The minnows have conceded just 25 goals in 23 league matches, which is a better defensive record than both second-placed FC Barcelona and seventh-placed Valencia.
Salisu, who is yet to be capped at international level for Ghana, has received a lot of credit for the team's good work at the back, but Valladolid may already have to start planning without him for next season.
