Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly locked in a race for the services of a midfielder who has scored a whopping 31 goals so far this season.
The crosstown rivals are believed to be after Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who has scored 31 goals and assisted another 17 strikes across all competition this season.
According to the Daily Mail, Pep Guardiola's Citizens are in already "in talks" with Sporting over a potential €50 million (R812 million) deal.
It has been claimed that City youngster Marlos Moreno, who is currently on loan at Mexican club Santos Laguna, could be included in the transfer to sweeten the deal for the Portuguese side.

Fernandes' exploits in 2018/19, however, have caught the eye of many of Europe's top clubs, including United, who are said to have sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old midfielder in action over the weekend.
The Sporting captain was once again the star of the show as his side thumped Belenenses 8-1, scoring a hat-trick to take his tally to 19 goals in Liga NOS this season.
However, United's lack of UEFA Champions League football in the 2019/20 campaign could diminish their chances of signing the free-scoring midfielder.
