With many supporters worried Manchester United are not doing enough to improve the club's current situation, chief executive Ed Woodward has seemingly revealed there will be big changes at the end of the season.
The Red Devils lured two players, in Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo, to Manchester in the January transfer window, but many fans still believe the team is far away from competing for titles.
Those sentiments seem to be shared by club executive Woodward, who appeared to hint at a squad overhaul ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
"Our recruitment process focuses on analysis and selection of players over the course of a season, with a view to the following summer transfer window," Woodward said at a recent fans forum at Old Trafford, according to Reuters.
"As part of the rebuild, we see this coming summer as an important opportunity.
"It is the overwhelming priority of everyone at the club to get us back to regularly challenging for Premier League and Champions League titles."
Woodward also insisted the club has prioritised its handling of recruitment.
"There has been extensive work on our recruitment process, with considerable investment in scouting, data and analytics," he added.
"Our focus is on bringing in a combination of experience and the best young players with potential to develop further, fusing graduates from our academy with high-quality acquisitions."
