The struggling 20-time English league winners suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss at Old Trafford, despite having many chances to win the match, especially in the first half.
With Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay all injured, Solskjaer was asked about the club's plans for the rest of the January window, and he gave hope to fans by saying United are looking at ways to bring in new players.
"We are working to improve and get players in, and hopefully we can get something over the line," he said, according to Reuters.

"I think everybody can see these players are being stretched, they are stretched, and I've got absolutely no complaints on any of them because they give absolutely everything they've got.
"We know we have to strengthen, and we took that decision that some of these players, we let them go, because we needed to start afresh with a clear sight on target in front of us and that means a certain type of player in the squad."
