A former Manchester United player, who left the club on a free agent at the start of this month, has broken his silence on what led to him making the decision to leave the Red Devils.
Ander Herrera recently signed for Paris Saint-Germain on a free deal, after his deal in England ran out last week.
With many United supporters confused about the details regarding his exit from the club, Herrera has now suggested he was not made to feel all that important ahead of next season, which was the main reason he decided to leave.
"I do not like looking at the past very much, but there were differences regarding the project and my importance within it," he told Marca.
"I was very happy, I have a lot to thank the club and the fans for it and also Solskjaer.
"He did a lot for me to stay, but things did not happen, they arrived late, and by then I had already made the decision to play in Paris."
Herrera played 189 matches for United, scoring 20 goals and assisting a further 27 strikes.
