Netherlands international Donny van de Beek has finally responded to calls from Manchester United supporters that he should be playing more regularly for the Red Devils.
The 23-year-old has completed 90 minutes just once since joining the English giants, and has played just 373 minutes of football across all competitions for the club to date.
There has been plenty of frustration surrounding Van de Beek's situation following his arrival from Ajax Amsterdam, despite manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's insistence that he will be an important player for his team this season.
The attacking midfielder, who scored in his country's 1-1 draw with Spain in an international friendly on Wednesday night, believes he has shown he can contribute at United, but is remaining patient.
"It sounds cliche for me to say this, because, of course, I would have liked to play more, but I really enjoy being in a nice team," Van de Beek told NOS.
"I am simply received very well and helped by everyone.
"I'm a patient person, but, of course, you go there to play as much as possible.
"I also think – in the minutes that I have made, in the times that I have come in – I have shown that I can add something to the team."
