Odion Ighalo is currently on loan at Manchester United from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the season.
It was claimed the Chinese side were keen to regain his services rather than lose him permanently for a fee of about £15 million (R336 million).
As a consequence, they have reportedly offered the Nigerian striker a contract extension worth a whopping £400 000 (R9 million) a week, which would make him the joint-top earner in the Far East alongside former Chelsea star Oscar.
Ighalo, though, has expressed his desire to extend his stay with United, the club he supported he growing up.

"I am inspired by a lot of things at United," he said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
"I am really inspired and I am looking forward to spending more time with the team.
"Seeing the club from the outside you don't know how big it is. But when you are inside, you know how big the club is."
