United have been linked with a number of top players ahead of next season, including Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish, but in order to be able to afford their reported targets, the club might have to sell a few players first.
Many expect French midfielder Paul Pogba to leave United in the next transfer window, with Juventus and Real Madrid said to be potential suitors.
The 26-year-old is valued at €100 million (R1.7 billion) by statistic website Transfermarkt, but it has been said that the club will only agree to sell him for a fee of €150 million (R2.5 billion).
United could also let attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard leave in the coming window, with many believing the 27-year-old's new agent Mino Raiola will look to get his client a transfer away from Old Trafford in search of regular first-team football.
Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo is determined to stay at United beyond this season, but is only currently on loan at the English giants. The 30-year-old is thus expected to leave come the end of the campaign, but that situation could change.
