The Red Devils are currently in a UEFA Champions League place on the Premier League table, with fifth spot securing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side a berth in Europe given Manchester City's ban from European club competition for the next two years.
In order to compete for the league title and go on a strong run in Europe, United might need to add a few more players to their roster next season, but that may first require letting a number of stars leave come the end of the campaign.
The player that will undoubtedly bring the club the biggest amount of money would be midfielder Paul Pogba, although it is well known that United are desperate for the 27-year-old Frenchman to stay at Old Trafford.
United might, however, feel a fee in the region of €100 million (R1.9 billion) could help their bid to improve in a couple of positions next season, with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish said to be among their main transfer targets.
Attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard might also very well be sold in the coming window, after the 27-year-old signed with super-agent Mino Raiola. The Englishman has lost his place in the starting XI, and could be allowed to leave to seek regular first-team football.
Chris Smalling, who has spent the campaign on loan at Roma, is likely to be on his way out of the club in a permanent deal too – click through the gallery to see all eight players who could leave United in the next window!
